The sill is the closed box section of the body running under the doors between the wheel arches. It stiffens the shell and protects the cabin in a side impact. On the outside it is shielded by plastic covers and trims that take stone chips and road dirt thrown up by the wheels. Replace a cover if it is cracked, sticks out or has broken clips; rust under the cover or a rotten sill is a job for a body shop.
When ordering, check the side (left, right), the number of doors, the trim level and the OE number. Side steps and trims fit on dedicated clips, which are worth ordering with the cover.
