Before you order — there is a five-minute test
This is the most important paragraph on the page. A Quickshift Twingo that refuses to start often ends up at the garage with a new gearbox robot fitted — when the culprit can be the lever itself, at a fraction of the cost.
The workshop test: unplug the lever's electrical connector and try to start the engine.

The second trap: a failed lever usually lights no warning lamp at all. No lamp is not proof that the lever is healthy — and that is exactly why the fault gets hunted everywhere else first.
Will it fit your car
The Quickshift gearbox decides, not the engine and not the year. A Twingo II with the ordinary manual box uses a completely different mechanism — no electronics, and not this number.

What this part does
Quickshift is an automated manual gearbox: a robot works the clutch and the gears, and the driver only picks the mode. So the lever is not connected to the gearbox by any cable — it is a purely electronic selector that reads its own position with sensors and reports it to the gearbox control unit.
That is where the common failure comes from. As the sensors or the internal contacts wear, the control unit stops seeing the neutral position — and without a confirmed neutral, the car will not let itself be started. The engine is fine, the starter is fine, and the car sits still.
When it needs replacing

Fitting, and what comes after
Good news: this lever needs no coding and no programming. After the swap there is nothing to adapt to the control unit — plug the connector in and drive.
Access is from above, through the centre console. While it is apart, look at the condition of the connector and the loom — a chafed wire or green deposit on the pins gives exactly the same symptoms as a worn lever, and a new part will not cure that.
