A resistor drops the voltage fed to the motor so the blower or radiator fan can run at several speeds. Older cars use wire-wound resistor packs, newer ones an electronic module with a heat sink. A burnt-out blower resistor leaves only the top speed, while a failed fan resistor makes the radiator fan run flat out or not at all.
Compare the OE number on the housing and the number of pins, or send us your VIN. Blower and radiator fan resistors are not interchangeable, and manual versus automatic climate control matters too. Replace a melted plug together with the resistor.
