A/C lines join the compressor, condenser, receiver drier, expansion valve and evaporator into a sealed circuit. The larger suction line carries cold gas back to the compressor, the thinner discharge line hot, high-pressure refrigerant. A leak shows up as fading cooling and an air con that keeps needing a re-gas; look for an oily patch at a crimped fitting, a chafed hose or a corroded pipe.
Routing depends on engine, driving side and refrigerant (R134a or R1234yf), so match the line by OE number or VIN. Fit new O-rings, then have the system vacuumed and recharged.
